Cub Scouts Pack 124-Penrose Cub
Scouts Pack 124 is in the Cuerno Verde District of the Boy Scouts of
America Rocky Mountain Council, in the beautiful, picturesque town of
Penrose, Colorado.
We are a year-round program designed for boys
who are in the first grade through fifth grade, or 7 through 10 years
of age. Parents, leaders and our Chartered Organization, the
Penrose Senior Center, work together to achieve the purposes of Cub
Scouting.
We provide activities for our Scouts and their
families to participate in to include, but not limited to: fishing,
camping, pinewood and rain-gutter regatta derbies, swimming, ice
skating and zoo trips. Meanwhile, we are training the boys the
responsibility of good citizenship; providing moral growth and
character; enhancing development of physical, mental emotional and
spiritual fitness; and teaching them new skills and how to have fun
responsibly.
The District also offers activities such as Day
Camps and Webelo Camps, where the Scouts can work on and earn patches,
awards and belt loops all the while enforcing the Scouting Values.
Cub
Scouting members join the pack and are assigned to a den, usually a
group of three to eight boys. Tiger Cubs (first-graders), Wolf
Cub Scouts (second-graders), Bear Cub Scouts (third-graders), and
Webelos Scouts (fourth and fifth-graders) meet weekly. Once a
month, all of the dens and family members gather for a pack meeting
under the direction of a Cubmaster and pack committee. The
committee includes parents of boys in the pack and members of the
chartered organization. We are open to all boys without regard
for religious preference in accordance with the policies of the Boy
Scouts of America.
If your son is interested in becoming a Cub
Scout or even a Boy Scout (sixth-grade and up), please contact Cub
Master Jennifer Francis at 719.372.6757 and leave a message.
